Founded in 2014, the European Learning Technologies Accreditation Council (ELTAC) has been continuously recognized by the U.K. Department of Education as a reliable authority on educational quality since 2021. ELTAC strives to identify, evaluate, and enhance the delivery of continuing education and training through an independent peer-evaluation process. The essential purpose of the accreditation process is to provide a professional judgment as to the quality of the educational institution and program(s) offered, and to encourage continual improvement thereof. Accreditation is the process by which the ELTAC Accrediting Commission grants public recognition to an educational institution which has voluntarily submitted to an evaluative comparison with established qualifications and standards, both upon initial application and periodically thereafter. ELTAC’s function is focused upon educational quality, the continuous assessment and improvement of educational practices, and assistance to member institutions in the improvement of these practices within their programs.

ELTAC European Learning Technologies Accreditation Council Accreditation criteria for education for the non-traditional student market particularly working adults is different. If you accredit working adults education, such as executive programs, or evening programs you can apply for membership to the ELTAC. As a pre-requisite to your institution’s membership, the ELTAC will evaluate the ratios and standards you follow in your accreditation procedure. Then after an Initial 6-12 months of training – member institutions are required to submit their finalized standards. Members are accorded 2 statuses either Members or Certified members. How to apply for membership If you are an accreditation agency in the field of evaluating online institutions, read on to see how you can apply for ELTAC accreditation. Initially, the accreditation organization fills in a short membership initiation form available online giving us basic details of the organization. This would enable ELTAC to check for your eligibility and for further details required for registration if any. If eligible, they are provided with our detailed membership form, which covers topics such as the scope of its accreditation, the process, organizational structure, support provided to the educational institute during its accreditation process, time-frames, etc. The form must then be submitted with an affidavit on the institution’s letterhead duly signed by a notary public, stating all information submitted on the membership form is correct. ELTAC will award membership after considering your organization’s application. What is the ELTAC?
