About Us

Founded in 2014, the European Learning Technologies Accreditation Council (ELTAC) has been continuously recognized by the U.K. Department of Education as a reliable authority on educational quality since 2021. ELTAC strives to identify, evaluate, and enhance the delivery of continuing education and training through an independent peer-evaluation process. With a global reach, ELTAC’s expansive scope is designed to support a diverse array of non-traditional post-secondary educational providers, including:

The essential purpose of the accreditation process is to provide a professional judgment as to the quality of the educational institution and program(s) offered, and to encourage continual improvement thereof. Accreditation is the process by which the ELTAC Accrediting Commission grants public recognition to an educational institution which has voluntarily submitted to an evaluative comparison with established qualifications and standards, both upon initial application and periodically thereafter. ELTAC’s function is focused upon educational quality, the continuous assessment and improvement of educational practices, and assistance to member institutions in the improvement of these practices within their programs.

In support of the Standards for Accreditation, ELTAC members will uphold the following principles of professional ethics:

To provide programs of study that are educationally sound, up-to-date, of high quality and are demonstrably effective.
To maintain fair, ethical, and clearly stated advertising, admission, and enrollment practices by accurately and fairly representing the ELTAC – accredited institution and its service to its constituency.
To provide effective student counseling and motivational programs that recognize individual differences and ensure successful student retention, graduation and, where applicable, employability.
To demonstrate the ultimate benefit of private educational training programs through satisfied participants.
To maintain an effective peer review system that ensures proper and ethical administration of all financial operations of the institution.
To promote the concept of voluntary self-regulation inherent in the accreditation process.
To demonstrate a commitment to educational services through community involvement and participation.
To demonstrate the effectiveness of private education and training, thereby providing essential skills to support a productive English work force.
To promote continuing education and training programs of the highest quality and integrity.

ELTAC Mission

ELTAC is the individual membership organization that promotes research, collaboration, scholarship, best practices, evidence based research to move together into the era of increasingly digitized education. A leader in the transition from old norms to new standards for a new age. The association equips individuals and institutions committed to such changes with the knowledge they need to bring those changes about.

To pursue these aims, ELTAC:

Envisions and articulates agendas for change.
Contributes to the knowledge of a diverse group of leaders committed to the systemic, long-term, cost-effective improvement of EU higher education.
Provides forums in which individuals from a variety of positions and institutions, within and outside higher education, can engage in constructive conversations about difficult issues.
Identifies and advocates practices that help individuals benefit from their differences and succeed in learning.
Documents and promotes new concepts of scholarship, with particular emphasis on the nature of learning and the results of teaching.
Helps institutions develop their capacities to make the organizational, pedagogical, and other changes needed to achieve their evolving missions.

ELTAC has formed global alliances and has regional chapters and presence in several regional locations around the world to facilitate our international accreditation process.

ELTAC has founded chapters to establish and strengthen quality standards for traditional and non-traditional educational institutes and corporations in different regions across the globe, hence developed global alliances. ELTAC has experts in its team who are well aware of the dynamics of the regional education and business system and possess the necessary expertise and knowledge to serve respective fields.

ELTAC European Learning Technologies Accreditation Council Accreditation criteria for education for the non-traditional student market particularly working adults is different. If you accredit working adults education, such as executive programs, or evening programs you can apply for membership to the ELTAC. As a pre-requisite to your institution’s membership, the ELTAC will evaluate the ratios and standards you follow in your accreditation procedure. Then after an Initial 6-12 months of training – member institutions are required to submit their finalized standards. Members are accorded 2 statuses either Members or Certified members. How to apply for membership If you are an accreditation agency in the field of evaluating online institutions, read on to see how you can apply for ELTAC accreditation. Initially, the accreditation organization fills in a short membership initiation form available online giving us basic details of the organization. This would enable ELTAC to check for your eligibility and for further details required for registration if any. If eligible, they are provided with our detailed membership form, which covers topics such as the scope of its accreditation, the process, organizational structure, support provided to the educational institute during its accreditation process, time-frames, etc. The form must then be submitted with an affidavit on the institution’s letterhead duly signed by a notary public, stating all information submitted on the membership form is correct.
